Outdoor Environmental Explorations

Kindergarten through eighth grade students from Marin and San Francisco will join together for daylong, environmental explorations, to highlight their close connection to their immediate surroundings. Destinations include Angel Island, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands, and the Mt. Tamalpais region.

By stepping out of the classroom for explorations of the Bay Area's rich and diverse natural resources, BHDS students build and strengthen their understanding of and appreciation for nature. These outdoor experiences include community-service-learning projects designed to encourage students both to become more responsible stewards of their environment and to carry the environmental message forward as role models.
