BHDS Seventh Grade Allocates Nearly $20K in Philanthropy
Posted May 31, 2012
Seventh grade students on both campuses designated nearly $20K in philanthropic funds for multiple non-profit organizations worldwide through a key project that pools together resources that would otherwise go toward purchasing b'nai mitzvah gifts for each child. Students spend a semester researching organizations they're passionate about and then deciding, collectively, how to donate the substantial amount raised. The nonprofits considered connect to social issues like health care, hunger, poverty, and education.
