Kindergarten Reenacts Alabama Bus Boycott
Posted January 19, 2012
Our Kindergarten students are learning about African American history, including a reenactment of the Alabama Bus Boycott. "We sang songs of freedom, honoring the bravery of Dr. King, Rosa Parks, and every person who chose to stand up for freedom by refusing to ride the buses until the law was changed," said teacher Jeff Krigger.
"We also talked about Rabbi Abraham J. Heschel and how he marched alongside Dr. King in support of these struggles," he added. "Our students really related to his famous quote that he was 'praying with his feet' during the march.
