Great Middle School Golf Season

This week marked the end of the Marin Middle School Golf League season. BHDS students Morgan Denker, Ryan Phillips and Mark Rothkin joined students from Mill Valley Middle School, St. Anselm and Bel Air to compete in a series of matches held at McInnis Golf Course. The season was a great success for these first time competitors. We hope to expand the BHDS golf team next year and students in grades 6-8 are eligible to participate; the season begins in late February and runs through early May. Join the fun!

Athletics at BHDS have grown tremendously over the last three years. We now field nine teams over five different sports with 90% of our middle school students participating. Wow, that is really fantastic!

Our growth brings with it new personnel. Christine Rickertsen will be joining us to coach our girls combined 5^th and 6^th grade team as well as our girls 7^th and 8^th grade combined team. Coach Rickertsen comes highly recommended and is currently coaching the girls Junior Varsity Volleyball team at JCHS and knows many of our former students. She played basketball and is looking forward to taking on the coaching role. Coach Tabarez will be working closely with Christine at practices and games as the season begins.

Girls practice will be on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:15PM – 4:30PM beginning Tuesday, November 13.

I will be coaching the boys 5^th and 6^th combined and 7^th and 8^th combined teams. Practice will be Wednesdays and Thursdays with the first practice for the boys basketball teams is Wednesday, November 14 from 3:15PM – 4:30PM.

BHDS Marin and BHDS San Francisco Battle in Girls Volleyball!!!

On Monday, October 29 the middle school girls volleyball teams from BHDS Marin climbed aboard a bus and made the drive down to San Francisco to take on the Lions from the San Francisco campus. The games were close as both teams were evenly matched but the lions from San Francisco came out on top in 4 of the 6 combined sets. Even though the scoreboard did not finish in favor of Marin, the trip was a monster success! Players were able to socailize and used athletics to build communtiy between the two campuses. BHDS Volleyball Gets First Victory of the Season!

It took four tries but our BHDS eighth grade girls volleyball team got their first vicotry of the season against the Davidson Cougars. The game was back and forth with the lead changing hands several times, in the end the Lions were able to squeak out the 25-24 victory. Congratulations to all the players who have worked so hard througout the season. Up next a scrimmage against the Lions from the BHDS San Francisco campus on Monday Oct. 29, in San Francisco.

The Lost Dutchman Invitational was held in Chandler Arizona Feb 17-20. BHDS student Adina Epstein competed in six events. She "bested'' her times in every event, swimming 50 meter butterfly in 33:22 seconds and 100 meter breast stroke in 1:25:72....

The most successful season in the history of BHDS Marin is has come to end. With over 40 students participating on one of the four teams it has become the biggest sport on campus. Lady Lions Save The Best For Last

The roar you here in the halls of BHDS is that of our Lady Lions basketball team who ended their season with a victory over Ring Mountain this afternoon. The game was won in overtime with two perfect shots from the foul line. Way to go Lady Lions!
