Our middle school music program enriches students' musical experiences with performance opportunities and diverse ensemble options.

Grade 6

Sixth graders participate in our beginning symphonic band. Students are introduced to the flute, saxophone, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, bass and percussion. They learn tone production, embouchure, breath technique and fingering while continuing to study music theory and reading. Sixth graders perform at our graduation ceremony.

Zero Period Music

Our vibrant Zero Period music program encompasses five separate music ensembles including three rock bands for guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and vocals; a chorus vocal ensemble; and a jazz ensemble. Drums, amplifiers and keyboards are provided. Ensembles meet from 7:05-8:00 a.m. in our music room and our participants are highly committed.

Jazz Band

Middle school students audition to participate in our jazz band. Band members lead an annual community event based on the jazz and swing era and perform at many school events. Instruments played include saxophone, trombone, trumpet, bass, guitar, piano and drums.
