Students Participate in Hour of Code
December 9-15 is Computer Science Education Week, where students across the country participate in an hour of coding. By the end of the week, 10 million students are expected to have participated. At BHDS, technology specialist Leo Stern introduced computer science and programming concepts to all lower school students. Second grade students worked with an app called Blockly, which teaches young students the basics of coding. Third through fifth grade students watched a short programming video and then had a chance to learn code using the app Hopscotch. The students enjoyed manipulating Angry Birds and learning to code in their Hour of Code!
