Earth Week 2013

BHDS celebrated Earth Week with education modules that included a talk by BHDS parent Adam Werbach, formerly the youngest president of the Sierra Club, who spoke to the students about responsible recycling and ways they can help with environmental clean-up, a school-wide lunchtime landfill waste tally, classroom learning on best environmental practices, a sports equipment and b'nai mitzvah dressy-wear swaps, a first grade "bike to school" event and performances by our rock and jazz bands. Capping the week was guest speaker Ken Cook, president of the Environmental Working Group.
